This is a part-time course over two years for people who wish to improve their translation and editing skills and receive a professional qualification.
In this course, students will cover a wide range of translation texts, improve their accuracy and style of Irish and identify common mistakes and problems which arise during the translation process.

Raidió Fáilte 107.1fm are inviting Irish speakers to take part in an intensive course in radio broadcasting and production skills .
The groundbreaking course is funded by the Irish Language Broadcast Fund and backed by Northern Ireland Screen. The participants will learn how to prepare, present, record and edit their own radio show.
More advanced radio skills interviewing and presenting techniques will also be covered. The participants will be given the opportunity to use Raidió Fáilte’s high tech recording equipment and editing suite in order to record and produce high-quality radio broadcasts, as well as training to use hand-held recording devices to record voxpops, interviews and community events. The course will also cover how to research a topic and write a radio script.
This is a great opportunity to kick-start a career in the media as a presenter or as a journalist and to produce your own programme on an all-Irish radio station.
As part of the course, guest speakers from various national media services will offer advice based on their experience in the media.
Participants who successfully complete the course will get the opportunity to have a regular slot on the busy schedule of the awarding winning Irish language station Raidió Fáilte.

Course Function
• To offer training on how to teach Irish to adults,
• Add to the participant’s teaching skills.
• Add to the participant’s knowledge of the most up to date research which would benefit their teaching.
• To offer an opportunity to participants to share and exchange ideas, practical suggestions and thoughts.
Course Structure
• Participants will attend 10 training workshops in NUI Maynooth. The workshops will be on Saturdays between September 2012 and April 2013.
• Participants must fulfil 40 hours of teaching in the duration of the course. Participants must arrange these classes on their own time.
• There will be compulsory coursework to fulfil – continuous work and projects which will be based on classwork and workshops.
• Support and advice will be provided for participants during course time.
Application criteria
To a secure a place on this course, applicants must (i) have a satisfactory level of Irish (ii) go for an interview.

In 2010 Oideas Gael celebrated 25 years of Irish language courses and cultural activity holidays in Gleann Cholm Cille, Co. Do. Donegal.

Oidhreacht Chorca Dhuibhne has been supporting Gaeltacht projects in west Kerry for many years. The aim is to preserve local cultural events and support the language, heritage and local projects in the area.
Chorca Dhuibhne Heritage are offering Irish language breaks in the West Kerry peninsula this summer.

The Irish Language & The Arts
The structure of the course are quite unique and relaxed. Individuals will spend some time in the class rooms but they will also get the opportunity to use their Irish in a relaxed friendly and atmosphere while taking part in organised cultural events.
Events include hill walking and visiting historic sights and enjoy the rugged West Kerry landscape while speaking Irish.
