The 6th Maggie Dans Samhain International Poetry Festival Takes Place In The North West Donegal Town Of Gortahork the homeplace of Irelands greatest living gaelic poet Cathal O’ Searcaigh from Wednesday the 15th to Sunday the 19th October 2008

The five day festival will open with Readings from An Leabhar Mór, by Gabriel Rosenstock, Tommy Francis, Deirdre Brennan, Tom Walsh, Noel

The five day festival will open with Readings from An Leabhar Mór, by Gabriel Rosenstock, Tommy Francis, Deirdre Brennan, Tom Walsh, Noel Gallagher, Councillor Joe Kelly, and many more guest poets.

Thursday night the 16th Music & Art Exhibition by: Seoirse Ó Dochartaigh.

Friday the 17th October Patrick Bogside Doherty, Mick Conway, Historian Dr Brian Lacy will lecture on the links of St Colmcille with Iona in Scotland Limavady and Derry in Northern Ireland and Donegal.

On Saturday a historical tour of St Colmcille sites with Dr Brian Lacy. Scottish writer & singer Gerda Stevenson & International Scottish poet Aonghas Dubh MacNeacail will undertake workshops and on Saturday morning & afternoon.

On Saturday night the 18th October Gerda Stevenson & International Scottish poet Aonghas Dubh MacNeacail will perform and recite.

The poetry competition date, which will take place in Bealtine 2009, will be announced after the festival 2008.
