Tadhg Ó Dúshláine wins second An Chuairt poetry Competition

Comhdháil Náisiúnta na Gaeilge organised the final of the Poetry competition which was held as part of this years cultural and literary exchange, An Chuairt for the second year in a row and a large crowd gathered in the office based in Kildare St to get a taste of some of the best contemporary poetry in the Irish/ Scottish Gaelic field.  

Áine Ní Ghlinn and Aonghus Mac Neacail were on hand as adjudicators on the night and had to make the difficult decision; however at the end of the night they chose a poem called ”An Duais” written by Tadhg Ó Dúshláine.  

Tadhg was delighted to win the prize of EUR500 and as part of the prize his poem will be published in the journal, Comhar and EOLAS, the newletter of An Chomhdháil.

Tadhg writes short stories, is a poet and also an academic who has written extensively on Irish literature. He is currently working as a lecturer in Irish in NUI Maynooth, where he has worked since 1978.
