Role of Gaelscoileanna in Language Strategy to be Discussed

Minister Pat Carey TD will share his views on the role he believes the Irish medium education sector will play in the future of the language at the annual conference of Gaelscoileanna Teo which will take place in Tullamore in November.

The finishing touches have been out on the conference’s programme of events which  will focus on the role of the Gaelscoileanna movement in the implementation of the 20 year strategy for the Irish language.

Chief Executive of Gaelscoileanna Teo, Bláthnaid Ní Ghréacháin believes that the theme of the conference is timely with the publication of the finalised strategy to be announced soon.

The two day conference to be held on the 19th and 20th of November will feature a number of talks and workshops for those working in the sector.

The organisation also announced that teachers from both North and South will attend the event as part of a new co-operation initiative which will see teachers share information and theories of best practice.
