Rí Rá Radio Broadcasters meet to discuss strategy

Strategies for the future development of Irish language chart station Raidió Rí were under discussion at the AGM of the station which took place in Trinity College Dublin last week.

The pop station has been broadcasting online for three years now on www.rrr.ie  and has recently developed iPhone and Nokia applications for listeners worldwide.

The station hopes to go live on FM again next March when Seachtain na Gaeilge will be in full swing but in the meantime the station hopes to commence broadcasting live programmes online.

Plans to expand the station to include more broadcasters outside of Dublin were also discussed at the meeting. The station welcomes new young broadcasters to come join its team according to Síne Nic an Ailí who says that anyone interested in working in the media  should get in contact with the station.

The meeting was held as part of a training weekend for third level students which was  organised by Conradh na Gaeilge in conjunction with a group of other Irish language organisations.
