Gaelscoileanna
Gaelscoileanna Teo was founded in 1973. Gaelscoileanna is a voluntary organisation. The organisation helps and supports the foundation and development of schools that provide education through the medium of Irish at both primary and secondary level.
Irish medium education has been to the forefront of education in Ireland and has grown substantially in the past 30 years and Gaelscoileanna has played a vital role in that growth. There are currently 170 all-Irish primary schools, and 42 all-Irish post primary schools throughout the island of Ireland (in non-Gaeltacht areas), with 139 of the primary schools, and 38 of the secondary schools located in the Republic of Ireland. The organisation receives funding from Foras na Gaeilge.
