Ógras was established by Conradh na Gaeilge in 1969 to afford the opportunity to young people to come together in youth clubs operating through the medium of Irish
The aim of Ógras is to promote Irish as the normal language of communication among the young and to give young people the opportunity to develop themselves as persons and leaders among the community.
Ógras has developed strongly over the years. Óg-Ógras was founden in 1988 to cater for national school children and both Ógras and Óg-Ógras organise a borad range of national and regional events for its members throughout the year.
